…You might not believe me but my life is fuller now. I’m not bitter, I’m better. Marriage works for me. Now when I write I have a lot more to say and it is a lot more well-rounded thought.
Now when I travel it is a memory carved into stone because I’m sharing it with people I love. Now when I go to work I’m a lot more cautious because I can’t afford to get fired, lol. Now everything is a dual affair… every move is a calculated step. Thus, I’m not as nimble anymore however, I’m a lot more grounded.

First, let me say that being single is a very special blessing (that can potential turn into a curse). The key to knowing where you stand in relation to this subject is understanding “WHY” you are single.
Paul, in one of his most controversial writings in the Bible, declares that in his opinion it is better to stay single than to marry.
[I Corinthians 7:32-34 ...But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.]
Why would Paul say such crazy things?
You need only ask a married person to realize how much your world is turned upside down once you say “I do.” Continue reading “Being Single vs. Being Married” »
Hey Family! Here is my MLK Post from the www.asparkstarts.com site. It was too good not to share again.I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I couldn’t let this week past without referencing the King of Dreaming and challenging our readers to “start dreaming BIG!”
In other post we’ve taken the time to express the necessity of having a dream as well as questioning the author of our dream. Now we are sincerely ready to begin “Dreaming.” I will advise you to make sure that you’re centered and focused at the conclusion of these first two steps. Remember, the first duty of dreaming is to listen. It may take upwards of two weeks of soul searching to come to definitive conclusions as to who your true self is and how to approach releasing that person from the bondage of your current daily grind.

Light is one of the most consistent themes throughout the Bible. The words ‘lamp’ and ‘light’ are used in the Bible nearly 250 times! One of my favorite references is Psalms 18:28,
“For thou will light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.”
I Found MYSELF
I’m convinced that every person that ever walked the face of this earth was created on purpose, with purpose, for a purpose. Yet, finding out what that purpose is may not be as easy as it sounds. Take me for example. I still have days when I wonder “Why am I here?” Still, these days are nothing like the darkest time in my life.
I spent a solid four years, thousands of dollars, and countless nights of study attempting to gain a degree that I thought would connect me with the perfect career. The reality is I went into college unaware of who I really was and “found myself” in the midst of the process. [Well, technically I don't know if it is possible to find yourself... let's say that God found me.]
ROCK BOTTOM
At my lowest point [in life and in college] I was heart-broken, performing poorly in my classes, friendless, and suicidal. Continue reading “Enlighten My Darkness” »
Will it be because of the car you drive? Maybe the house you lived in? Better yet, the clothes you wore. Will that be how you’re remembered? Is that the legacy you long to leave?
What will your immediate and distant family say about you? No, not at your funeral (or while they are still in shock from grieving). What will they say years later when there is no reason to puff-up your memory? What will they say to themselves in the recesses of their subconscious? Pause and think about that for a minute. Chances are it may not be as positive as you would hope.
