How Will You Be Remembered?

Knowing you only live once, what will be your legacy?

Will it be because of the car you drive? Maybe the house you lived in? Better yet, the clothes you wore. Will that be how you’re remembered? Is that the legacy you long to leave?

What will your immediate and distant family say about you? No, not at your funeral (or while they are still in shock from grieving). What will they say years later when there is no reason to puff-up your memory? What will they say to themselves in the recesses of their subconscious? Pause and think about that for a minute. Chances are it may not be as positive as you would hope.

How Do You Want To Be Remembered?

Personally, I always wanted to have a long list of people who are convinced that the world is better because I lived in it. With this truth shared, I’m left asking the question, “How can I make that a reality?” I’d like to think the first people on the list to appreciate my presence would be my immediate and extended family.

From there I would go to my home church and extend out to my neighbors and co-workers. The further out I reach into my natural spears of influence the more I realize how little I’ve invested in the “people” I come in contact with every week. With little investment comes little return. A long stare at the facts showed me that currently not many people would remember me for the reasons I deem the most important.

This inspired a desire to change. The key is to change my investment levels in people with the goal of generating a better result. As I shared these new goals with close friends they all came back with similar desires to be better versions of themselves. Talking about it is easy… How can we all get to this better destination where we give more and “take” less?

Go With Me On A Journey

This blog is my humble attempt to inspire “course correction” in anyone daring enough to read it. Though I will be writing from a Christian perspective, I will attempt to make this so full of life truths that anyone can read it and walk away inspired to live on a higher thought level with clearer goals and purer purpose. I’m convinced that this life is but a vapor (James 4:14). Here today and gone tomorrow. Thus, it is my goal to enjoy every moment by making every moment count. Remember: Only what we do for Christ will last, (II Corinthians 5:10).

P.S. I don’t have all the answers. I’m just dedicating this blog to seeking them. Please use the comment section and share “how you want to be remember.”
